Meosha Brooks

Meosha Brooks is an Advanced Systems Manager in Strategic Business Development at Ball Aerospace in Civil Space where she develops customer relationships and engagement strategies and pursue opportunities for scientific endeavors and a Co-Instructor at Johns Hopkins University in the College of Engineering. She joined Ball as a Ground Systems Engineer where she developed ground systems for satellites.

Meosha has been in the field of engineering for over 20 years with her career beginning as a Systems Engineer Motherboard Design Engineer at Advanced Miro Devices (AMD) where she developed cutting edge laptop technology for motherboards and processors. She taught 6th-8th grade Physical and Earth Science at Pasadena ISD in Pasadena, TX for five years until returning to engineering. Meosha began her expertise in Aerospace as a Performance Systems Engineer at Lockheed Martin as a contractor to NASA where she developed code to monitor data for the space shuttle. Continuing her career at Lockheed Martin as a Ground System Engineer-Mission Trainer, Meosha developed crew curriculum and software code for satellite operators. She also was a systems test engineer later continuing her career in Systems Test Engineering at The Raytheon Company.

Meosha holds a Master’s degree in Systems Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering Technology from Prairie View A&M University, and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Sam Houston State University.

Meosha has a deep love for her community and its people. She devotes her time to mentoring and teaching others about careers in STEAM fields, both young and old. She is a member of and serves on the boards of the St. Vrain Valley School District’s Board of Education, Colorado Space Business Roundtable, and Colorado Futuretek, and is one of the Encouraging Robotics in Education Foundation (E.R.I.E) founding members. While engineering is her passion, Meosha loves to read and spend time with her family and she does a lot of it through volunteering her time with her sons’ Boy Scout Troop and Cub Scout Pack, her daughter’s Girl Scout Troop, and their extracurricular activities, the Optimist Club and the schools. Meosha is a wife to her husband Town of Erie Mayor, Justin Brooks, and mother of four to Christian, Lauren, Gabriel, and Matthew.

Meosha is a forward thinker and thought leader who believes that people can be inspired and motivated by the continuous positive examples they see and the encouragement to do better no matter where they come from or where they have been. Her words to live by are,
